Trending Roasted Tea(Chai) Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups milk
- 4-5 black tea bags or loose tea leaves
- 4-5 green cardamom pods
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1-2 star anise
- 4-5 cloves
- 1-2 slices fresh ginger
- 2-3 teaspoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1-2 teaspoons roasted tea masala (available in stores) or ground spices (clove, cardamom, cinnamon)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Begin by roasting the spices (cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, star anise) in a dry pan over medium heat. Roast until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let them cool.
2. Crush the roasted spices using a mortar and pestle or a spice grinder to release their flavors. Set aside.
3. In a saucepan, combine water and milk, and heat over medium heat until it comes to a gentle boil.
4. Add the crushed spices, ginger slices, and tea bags or loose tea leaves to the boiling mixture.
5. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until the tea is infused with the spices and has a robust flavor.
6. Stir in the sugar and roasted tea masala (or ground spices). Adjust the sugar to your taste.
7. Let the chai simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
8. Strain the chai into cups or mugs, and enjoy your trending roasted tea (roasted chai)!
Note: You can adjust the level of spiciness by varying the amount of roasted tea masala or ground spices you use. Additionally, you can also experiment with the sweetness level to suit your preference.
