Peanut Butter

Homemade Peanut Butter Recipe:

  • Ingredients:

- 2 cups unsalted roasted peanuts
- 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1-2 tablespoons vegetable oil (if needed for consistency)

  • INSTRUCTIONS

1. Add Peanuts to a Food Processor: Place the roasted peanuts in a food processor. You can use either unsalted or lightly salted peanuts based on your preference.

2. Process the Peanuts: Turn on the food processor and let it run for a few minutes. At first, the peanuts will be chopped into smaller pieces. After a minute or so, they will begin to clump together.

3. Scrape Down the Sides: Pause the food processor and scrape down the sides with a spatula to ensure even processing.

4. Continue Processing: Resume processing. The peanuts will go through several stages: chopped nuts, clumps, and finally, a thick paste. This can take anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes, or even longer depending on your food processor's power.

5. Add Sweetener and Salt: If you want to add sweetness to your peanut butter, pour in 1-2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste) and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Process again for another minute to combine everything.

6. Adjust Consistency: If your peanut butter is too thick, you can add a tablespoon or two of vegetable oil to achieve the desired consistency. Process again briefly to incorporate the oil.

7. Taste and Adjust: Taste your peanut butter and adjust the sweetness and salt to your liking. If needed, add more sweetener or salt and process briefly to mix.

8. Store: Transfer the freshly made peanut butter to a clean, airtight container. It can be stored in the refrigerator for several weeks.

Enjoy your homemade peanut butter on sandwiches, with fruits, or as a dip.
