Chicken Manchurian

Quick Chicken Manchurian Recipe

Ingredients:

- 250g boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (adjust to your spice preference)
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a bowl, mix the cornstarch, egg, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken pieces and coat them evenly with this mixture.

2. Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

3. Add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil and stir-fry them until they are golden brown and cooked through. This should take about 4-5 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.

4. In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

5. Add the chopped onions, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper to the pan. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.

6. Return the cooked chicken to the pan and mix it with the vegetables.

7. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, vinegar, tomato ketchup, and red chili flakes. Pour this sauce mixture over the chicken and vegetables.

8. Pour in the chicken broth or water to create a sauce. Stir everything together and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

9. Taste the Chicken Manchurian and adjust the seasoning if needed.

10. Garnish with chopped green onions.

11. Serve your delicious Chicken Manchurian hot with steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy!

Note: You can adjust the spiciness of the dish by adding more or fewer red chili flakes and adjust the sauce's thickness by adding more or less chicken broth or water.
