Toaster Pastry

 Toaster Pastry Recipe

Ingredients

- 2 sheets of store-bought puff pastry
- 1/4 cup fruit jam (your choice of flavor)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Sprinkles (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1: Preheat your toaster oven to 375°F (190°C) or regular oven to the same temperature if you don't have a toaster oven.

STEP 2: Lay out the puff pastry sheets on a clean, floured surface. Use a knife or a pizza cutter to cut each sheet into a rectangle or square, depending on your preference.

STEP 3: Place a tablespoon of fruit jam in the center of half of the pastry pieces. Leave a small border around the edges.

STEP 4: Take the remaining pastry pieces and use a fork to prick them all over. These will be the tops of your pastries.

STEP 5: Carefully place the pastry tops over the jam-covered pastry bottoms. Use your fingers or a fork to press down and seal the edges. This will create a pocket for the filling.

STEP 6: Transfer your pastry pockets onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

STEP 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed up and have a golden-brown color.

STEP 8: While the pastries are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until you have a smooth, thick glaze. Adjust the consistency with more powdered sugar or milk if needed.

STEP 9: Once the pastries are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

STEP 10: Drizzle the glaze over the warm pastries. If desired, add sprinkles for extra flair.

STEP 11: Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving.

STEP 12: Enjoy your homemade toaster pastries while they're still warm and delicious!

Note:

Be cautious when biting into the hot filling. It can be very hot right out of the oven.
