Ingredients

- Potatoes
- Vegetable oil
- Salt (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS


STEP 1: Wash and peel the potatoes (optional). You can leave the skin on for a rustic feel.

STEP 2: Cut the potatoes into thin strips or desired fry shapes.

STEP 3: Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 350-375°F (175-190°C).

STEP 4: Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil, ensuring they don't overcrowd the pan. Fry in batches if necessary.

STEP 5: Fry the potatoes until they turn golden brown and crispy, which should take about 3-4 minutes.

STEP 6: Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove the fries from the hot oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

STEP 7: Sprinkle with salt (optional) while they're still hot.

STEP 8: Serve your homemade French fries immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
