Chicken Tikka Recipe
Ingredients
- 500g boneless chicken pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Skewers (wooden or metal)
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: In a bowl, combine the plain yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt to make the marinade.
STEP 2: Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Mix well, ensuring the chicken is evenly coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or ideally, refrigerate for a few hours or overnight for better flavor.
STEP 3: Preheat your grill or oven to high heat (about 200°C/400°F). If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
STEP 4: Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
STEP 5: Place the chicken skewers on the preheated grill or in the oven. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a slight char on the outside.
STEP 6: Serve hot with naan or rice, garnished with lemon wedges and fresh coriander. Enjoy your homemade chicken tikka!
